Apple has said the the October 7, 2011 pre order totals are the highest among all previous launches. Reports are coming in that the had over 200K orders with in 12 hours. Thats a lot of people who didnt take the most followed path in thinking.

"AT&T has seen extraordinary demand for iPhone 4S with more than 200,000 preorders in the first 12 hours alone, the most successful iPhone launch we've ever had,"

The very same week Steve Jobs died the launch was biter sweat for Apple fans. How can such a talented person be taken so early many wonder.
